Frivolity
A Collection of Humorous Short Stories
Short stories should be short. They should entertain and amuse. Occasionally they will provoke thoughts and be informative. Their main purpose is to be pleasant companions. It is to help you enjoy the time you spend with ideas and words that I offer this book.
My wife once said that I prefer traveling on large cruise ships because there will be 3,000 people on board that have yet to hear my stories, a captive audience. I have travelled extensively. Countless cruise ship passengers have enjoyed my stories. Some have heard them more than once. I need to expand my audience. This book is an attempt to do so.
These 30 new stories and other items cover a variety of subjects. All are based on a fictionalized version of true events. You will be able to follow the saga of the ducknapped ducks. The electric bicycle adventures and the raccoons should please you. The prowess of figure skaters will make you wonder while you wander with us through Southern Europe to determine the true colour of the presumably blue Danube. I will share with you my academic career where I managed to be expelled from primary school 3 times and risked the same fate in high school and university. You will find my relationship with my wife to be affectionally puzzling. My mother in law’s fictional autobiography is shockingly not believable.
The purpose of life is living. I have been doing that intensely and merrily since I survived my own death. I invite you to come and share part of that life with me.
